SC Consolidated Procurement Code requires the Division of Procurement Services to develop and maintain a training and certificate programs because knowledgeable and skilled public procurement officials uphold the public trust by ensuring that their agencies receive the best value for expenditure of funds. The training and certificate programs are open to all public procurement officials within the state of South Carolina. All government procurement officials are encouraged to participate. The qualifications and experience of an agencey's procurement officers are reviewed by the Division of Procurement Services' Audit and Certification staff when developing recommendations for that agency's procurement authority.
