• Over the Phone Interpreting or OPI means off-site interpreting services provided via telephone – vendors awarded this category should be able to provide interpreting services for any known language.
   
• Video Remote Interpreting (or VRI) means off-site interpreting services provided through videoconferencing technology equipment and a high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth – vendors awarded in this category should be able to provide interpreting services for American Sign Language (ASL) among other languages as listed.
   
• Document Translation is the act of rendering a written communication from one language to another – vendors awarded this category should be able to provide translation services for any known language.

The purpose of these contracts is to provide “as-needed” Telephone Based Interpreter Services, Video Remote Interpreter Services, and Document Translation. Contractors provide services for customers and their clients who need immediate assistance. These services are required to assist Limited English Proficiency (LEP) clients uncomfortable with and/or unable to speaking English, or whose English is not clearly understood.
